Anyone have any suggestions for non-water activities in Cozumel and Belize? We enjoy the beach, but only to relax on the sand and hear the waves roll in. We're also not that hip on cave tours and the like. anything aside from eating and shopping to do while there?
If you just want to relax on the beach then Paradise Beach would be a good choice in Cozumel. They also have a minigolf course that is supposed to be beautiful and a lot of fun. In Belize if you want to relax on a beach you would have to take a water taxi to one of the Cayes. I have seen where people take a water taxi to Caye Caulker and rent a golf cart to explore the island. I hope this helps!
We too, are not into the water sports thing. In Belize we went on a bus tour to Altun Ha-Rover Wallace tour. It was a beautiful day and the drive to the ruins, through the city was interesting. As was stated else where, this a a developing country and not like some of the others that have had tourists, for many years.
The ruins were interesting to view and the guides were well informed. The boat ride down the river was great. we saw many of the native animals along the way, monkeys, corcs, birds, bats iguana and many more. All in all it was a day well spent.
Hope this helps. Have a wonderful cruise and tour.
How much is a taxi ride to Caye Caulker? Can you explore the island without renting the golf cart? How much is the golf cart for the day or half day? Do you suggest anyone in particular to rent it from?
