Default Mexican Riviera - Pride

We are thinking of cruising on the Pride next Summer for a Mexican Riviera cruise. Have a few questions - we are sailing with older teens (17/21) - would we find this age group on this cruise (cruise out of FL previously and there are tons of cruisers in this age group).

Also what would be the better month to saild for weather and families - late June, July or August? We are flexible in the dates.

Thanks for any feedback

Kathy

Kathy, I am almost 99 percent sure that it's gonna be very hot during those months. We had the best luck in February. Tourism season begins in November, so we always book at the very end of October. It's still pretty warm even then.

I think if you go to the Weather Channel web site they can give you common temperatures at different times of the year.

The Pride is a great ship -- the kids would have a fantastic time. We sailed her in February.

We sailed on Pride in July and had a great time. It was hot but not that bad. I thought Puerta Vallarta was humid but I live in Colorado where our humidity is very low. My kids are 13 and 14 and had a great time. I saw kids of all ages and lots of young adults too. I'd highly recommend this ship.

I got back sunday! It was fabulous! There were tons of teens my age and I made a lof of friends on the cruise. There were quite a few teens in the age group of 17 and 18 and the 18 and up crowd has their own disco after 10:30 in Beauties. There are many things to do on the ship and the only time I was bored is when everyone else did shore excursions in Cabo and my family didnt so when we came back on the ship earlier than most people there wasnt anyone to hang out with. My only complaint was the location of the smoking areas, the time it took to get room service (took 45 minutes to get some brownies and milk), the room service trays scattered in the hallways, and the cleanliness in the fun club area (a little kid had gone number 2 all down the stairs near the fun club area and it wasnt cleaned for 35 minutes). A woman was in prematur labor 3 hours after we left cabo so we had to turn around and go back. We never got into long beach until 11 am that day and never got off around 2:30 pm but I thought it was nice because i got to stay on the ship later with my friends. Overall, the whole experience on the ship was fantastic!

Thanks for the great follow-up post ... you really gave a good perspective for how younger people spend their time on board.

Too odd about the woman going into labor ... we seem to have more "pit stops" in Cabo more than anywhere else ... same thing happened to us on the Sprit coming back from Acapulco.

Thanks for the great report.
