I have booked a Princess Mexico cruise for March. We will be docking at Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Cabo San Luca. Which ports are good for sightseeing/excursions and which ports are good for shopping?
All the ports are good for both however Cabo has the least to see and explore but does have lots of shopping so I would suggest Cabo for shopping and the other ports for sightseeing and a little more shopping. You can easily walk everywhere in Cabo because it is so small.
i have been to all the ports youre planning on going to ..via a princess cruise. Best bet in Puerta Vallarta ..go on the 4wd adventure to the sierra madre. It was the highlight of our trip.
On a Princess cruise to Mexico they advised against parasailing because sometimes passengers were injured and medical services are not the best. They said on a previous cruise a passenger landed on some rocks and had to be flown back to the US for medical service.
Sue, we usually do the bulk of our shopping in PV .... seems that have some different items from the other ports. Also, when pricing abriefcase, we found the prices got cheaper as we headed south.
In town, there is so much to see and do ... fantastic beaches, great restaurants, the beautiful Malecon along the water, the gorgeous cathedral, Rio Cuale area, etc.
We did a walking tour that was noted in Fodors and it was great.

thanks harry for sharing with me what you have done. Is Fodors a magazine, website?
I am open for any suggestions, has no one gone on any excursions that they care to share?
