Default Copper Canyon excursion

Has anyone gone on the Copper Canyon excursion? I note that HAL offers one on the Mexican Riviera/Sea of Cortez cruise. It is quite expensive and I was wondering if it is worth the money. Thank you.

I suggest you take some time and go on the train from Los Mochis or Il Fuerte all the way through the canyon doing several overnight stopovers along the canyon rim. A one way trip ending in Chihuahua is probably the best way to see the canyon.

This is not something to see in one day from a cruise ship.

The canyon is amazing and there is much to see and do. The Tarajumara people are a fascinating culture of Native Americans still living in caves on the walls of the canyon itself. We awoke each morning listening to fellow tribesmen speaking to other by drum, across the canyon, just as the sun was rising. Wow!This is a fabulous land cruise by train that really requires 7-10 days to get a good look.

We did this trip three Christmases ago and it was an incredible vacation to say the least. Feel free to e-mail me if you have further questions.
