Default Shelter Island

Harry, I am thinking of staying at Humphrey's Shelter Island pre cruise. Please give me your opinion and approx cab fare to pier. If you could advise name of moderate hotel on harbor isle it would be appreciated. I didn't really see anything during my search.

Thank You Jimmy Mc ....OOSTERDAM 2/26

Jimmy, Humphreys is maybe only 2 miles from the pier ... so minimal taxi fare.

I did just check Hotwire, and you can get a 31/2 star hotel (Raddison/Crowne Plaza) category *with* airport shuttle (which should be able to drop you at the pier) for $91 a night Feb 25-Feb 26 in downtown/Harbor Island area.

We booked the Holiday Inn Bayside, which is also on Shelter Isand (Point Loma)for 3 nights postcruise, in March. Does anyone know anything about this hotel? We also booked the Best Western Bayside, but we are leaning toward the Holiday Inn.

the Holiday Inn is directly across from the pier, which makes it great right after you get off the ship. Plus, you can walk to many attractions, and you are a block away from the trolley stop at the train station, which can take you all over.

Did you see the article I wrote about things to do in San Diego? It's under News and Features under "ports"

Harry, I don't think we are talking about the same Holiday Inn. The one we booked is not across the street from the pier. It is near the Humphrey hotel

Lilly, thank you so much for pointing out the error!!!

It's the Holiday Inn on the Bay that is the one directly across from the pier.

I really appreciate you letting me know.

Harry
