I fairly large group traveling on the Pride (Aug 28). Since I am the Group Leader I have been looking out for cheap airline tickets. No one wants to go down the night before and we are only up in Northern California so it really should'nt be a problem. My question is should we fly into LAX or Long Beach? I didn't even know Long Beach had an airport.
Long Beach is much closer -- obviously. I would let it be rate driven. Of course, you will also have shuttle costs. Here are the links for the shuttles:
Thanks Harry, how far is the pier from the Airport? I do plan to charter out three shuttles, so that everyone will arrive together. I'am also planning to make sure we have a early morning flight, just in case................. In looking at the pricing, Long Beach is a little more, but then again I keep thinking of all the traffic in LAX thought just not having to go through their baggage claim is worth the difference.
I will be sailing on the Diamond Princess 3/19. I also looked into flying into Long Beach . The air fare flying into Long Beach was pretty expensive. I then started pricing flying into LAX. I found more airlines go into LAX and I think that is why flying into LAX is more reasonable. I finally booked with Southwest Air flying into LAX. I found, in my case coming from Missouri, it was much cheaper flying into LAX. ex: Long Beach-$359, LAX $180, (round trip) each person.
