Flying into LAX

Not sure where to post this, but if anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it.
We're flying into LAX for our cruise on the Pride. I just looked at a map of the LA airport and didn't realize how far apart the terminals were. We're having one from our party fly into terminal 1, and we'll be flying into terminal 5. Is there an "easy" meeting place? How far are the terminals from each other? Looks to be like a parking lot between the 3 and the others.
Plus, we'll be having a shuttle service pick us up. Where do they usually pick u up at?
It looks like it's really grown since I've been there last time and I"m not looking forward to it!
Just don't want to have a horrible time trying to find our other party that we'll be meeting for the cruise.

Have you already booked your flights? You could fly into Long Beach which would be much closer. Are you taking the Carnival's shuttle service? Are you arriving on Sunday or are you spending the night Saturday before. If you are arriving and being shuttled to the ship on Sunday from LA I would suggest not even adding to your stress by trying to hook up with your friends. Leave messaged on their cabin phones when you get on board and meet in the Mermaid's grill for lunch. The people from the shuttle pick you up at baggage claim. They have your info. Remember you gave all of that info when you registered for your fun pass. Have a great time. We just got back on 4/24

Thanks Susan, but yes we have our flights booked. Flying into LB wasn't an option. We've done research and we're going to have our other party, (one) meet us in our luggage claim area. I'm responsible for him and we have to catch our shuttle together. I don't use the ships shuttle. We like having the freedom of not having to wait on others. Works out much better for us.

We've been on the Pride before. She's a beautiful ship and we're looking forward to a new itinerary with her. Who was the CD? Was he/she good? We had the best cd on her before. Actually, I don't like most of them.
