Sunny, not at alll -- especially on Carnival. You'll find lots to do and lots of great things. Lots of activities for all kinds of age groups. You'll love it.

Your cruise is what you make it. I never cruise with strangers. I always assume that everyone on the ship is there to have a fantastic time. I include them in our conversations, ask them to join our games. People love to talk about themselves and it is so easy to open to door to conversation with a simple. "Great outfit: ( Do you know how much time and money, we women spend getting our wardrobe together for our cruise?), or how was dinner?, did you like the show? What do you do for fun?, or always a topic that's a hit, Their kid and/or grandkids.

Those are excellent tips, Susan. Also, I find if you can offer info on ports or the ship, it's a great icebreaker, too.

One time, I took a 4-nighter by myself, and even at the muster drill, I found a nice older woman who was also traveling solo. Had a very nice chat.
