Has anyone gone on this trip inland? It's 7 hours and wondering if its worth it or not. Have loved all the ruins we have seen in the past and know these are a bit newer in discovery. Thanks for your help.
It is totally worth it! While at the ruin’s, we were lucky enough to see a minor eruption of one of the volcano's off in the distance. The opportunity to see the eruption was a chance in a life time.
We did the ruins in Nov through Carnival. It was a very interesting tour, also we got a good view of the volcano. Had a nice lunch in a small town near the ruins with lots of shopping. Great way to see some of the countryside as the port inself is very industrial, not much to see.
Went on this tour a couple of years ago through Celebrity cruise. It was a nice tour. I have not seen the ruins on the other side of Mexico but I was told that they are better; but I quite enjoyed seeing these.
Being as close as we were to a live volcano was an interesting experience. The little towns that we toured had lots of opportunity for seeing cultural exhibits as well as good shopping.
Lots of ability to see the coutryside outside of the usual touristy type places. The 'eating' part of the tour was also more than adequate.
I am disappointed that I did not take this tour again this year as it was by far better than the one I chose - so my opinion was that it was well worth the price paid.
