Default Question for Harry

I know you've been on the Monarch of Seas and liked it. Have you tried Carnival Pride? I'm looking at doing a 4 day on either of these ships. My other question is what to do in these ports? Are there things to do that don't involve the beach or snorkeling? I'll be traveling with my mother and sister and neither of them are beach or snorkel people. They both like museums, city tours, etc..

Darcy, the Carnival 3/4-nighters are on the Paradise. I've yet to sail her but was on the sister (and older) Ecstasy many times. Cabins are much bigger on Carnival, and it seems to have more nightlife, but Monarch has a good share, too.

We, too, are not beach/snorkel people, and you will have lots to do .... In Catalina, it's great to rent a golf cart and cruise the island -- lots of good sight-seeing. Ensenada is great for walking downtown and shopping, or you may want to go out to the Bufadora and see the blwo hole and shopping. We aalways have lunch at the El Cid Hotel downtown.

San Diego is great because it's so pretty and you can easily grab the trolley to take in some sights.

Monarch seems to run cheaper per person (and it's the only one that stops in San Diego).

I wrote articles on all three ports -- just go to news features and then teh port category.

Thanks Harry.

I've sailed both Carnival and RCL and like both lines for different reasons. I was leaning more toward the Monarch as I like the extra port and it is a little cheaper.
