Default January in Mexico

Taking the Carnival Pride on January 7th, 2007, to Puerta Vallarta, Matzatlan and Cabo. Has anyone taken this trip in the winter and what was the weather like??

Also, any recommendations on excursions in Puerta Vallarta? We have 3 kids, 5,11,and 12 which limits what we can do.

thanks

Bill

I have taken several cruises to the Mexican Riviera. Baically, the first day and the last day, when the ship is transiting off the cost of the northern half of the Baja Peninsula, tend to be in the cool side so you might want a light jacket (windbreaker) when you go out on deck. All of the ports of call are in the tropics, so plan for summer-like weather (daytime temperatures in the 80's or perhaps even lower 90's) for the rest of the cruise.

Hmmm....

>> The tour of the city's highlights, including the magnificent shrine church of Our Lady of Guadalupe (which is NOT the city's cathedral, but often misrepresented as such in tour descriptions) is excellent, but you have to be the judge of how well your five-year-old would handle it.

>> The tours of the tequilla distilleries are also excellent. Princess had a great tour, which Carnival may or may not offer, that combined visits to two distilleries with an afternoon at a beach.

>> There's probably an excursion that goes to an all-inclusive beach resort for a day of "fun in the sun" that would be suitable for your familiy. The youngsters could go tot he resort's children's and youth activities.

But have a wonderful cruise, whatever you decide!

Norm.

In Puerto Vallarta (spelling?) The pirate ship Marigalante is great for a family outing. Food, pirate shows, kid contests for all ages, private beach, snorking, bannana boat rides all included, it was great. The pirate ship is right at the same dock where your ship will dock so not a long walk at all.

We always go in Jan. and the weather is great. Some years ago on a land based trip to P.V. we discovered a water park by the Marina. It is so much fun, first of all, we never saw more than a handful of people using the facilities. It has three slides for adults, or older children and a fabulous area for kiddies and my fav, the lazy river. It has been a while but we hardly paid anything, it was really reasonable. I always thought that if we ever came with the grandkids it would be a place they would love Cozzette
