We are going on a cruise for the first time. My husband and I are going with our 2 children (5 and 6). I was wondering if anyone had some good places they would recommend for us to do in Costa Maya? I was thinking about the ruins but I think they may get bored.
Walk through port area to get a shuttle to Majahual. Walk down to the very end of the village and hang out in front of Pez Quadro (or any of them really...we always go here though and love it). The water is very shallow and calm. Your kids will frolic in a the sea...you will chill out, enjoy one of their awesome cocktails and have a terrific lunch brought down to the beach from the restaurant across the "road". It's a great spot. Souvenirs are cheaper here than in the port area though as more people have been visiting the sleepy village they are catching up with the commercial opportunities available.
Try the Chacchobben Ruins, really impressive and interesting, relatevely short tour of the ruins with impressive natural setting, takes all in all 4 hours, then have enough time to spend in the village of Mahahual just 5 taxi minutes away or the facilities at the pier...I recommend the beach in Mahahual and taste the seafood...fresher isnt possible!!
