My girls and I (20 and 11) chose Playa Uvas for our day in Cozumel last month. We had lots of activities planned for our ports the two days before and knew we'd want a relaxing beach day. Uvas was
the service is excellent there! Carmen greeted us when we arrived and called me by name the rest of the day. She made sure we had an umbrella and had teak loungers moved next to our beach bed for us. We arrived at about 11:15 and there were very few people there.
The girls took the clear kayak & snorkel tour (had a great time) and I had a massage while they were gone. There were only two vendors and neither was the least pit pushy. There's an Argentinian lady who is a fused glass artist and makes beautiful jewelry inspired by the colors of the sea. Her prices were very reasonable and I purchased several necklaces and earrings--some for me and a couple for gifts--and get lots of compliments when I wear them.
If you want a quiet, relaxing day, I highly recommend Uvas.
Sounds interesting. How much $$ was food and drink included? How far from cruise pier? Did you prearrange this or just go at last minute? I can't decide. Is this a hotel or just a beach. Are children welcome or adults only?
We grabbed a taxi at the International Pier, which cost us $10. On the way back same price ($10). I had made all the arrangements with edwardo (sp?) via uva websight www.playauvas.com. We purchased the All Inclusive beachpass for $59.00 (entrance to uvas, kayak and snorkl tours, snorkel gear, beef or chicken fajitas, open bar, one locker use and something else can´t remember.. included), childern are welcome
