Default Cliff Divers - Acapulco

Any advice on the best place to view the cliff diving show? Which show is best - daytime or evening? Should I book the cruise line excursion (NCL) or book another service?

We watched them jump at dusk. It is a little bit more impressive that way. When it gets dark they have lights so you can see them and the last jumper of the group jumps with a lit torch.

We found that a cab ride was the easyest. The only problem you might have is finding a cab to take you home when your done without waiting a little while. Our cab driver stayed they whole time we were there. When we left i didn't see any other cabs around.

The cliff divers are very impressive and the site La Quebrada, is just a 5 minute taxi ride from pier in Acapulco. If you take the ships excursion, all transportation is arranged, you will get chips and salsa at the famous hotel and also enjoy a folkloric dance before the cliff diver's show. It is a real attractivity at any time of the day...the cruise excursions are mostly in the morning or afternoon, seldom in the eveing....with a guide you may be more sure to get all relevant information about this activity. Also....safety is an issue in Acapulco...not that people harm the tourists but there is a lot of violence still from illegal businesses and sometimes tourists are affected...Acapulco is not very safe but really nice and if you do your things with consciousness and normal sence...it is a great experience!...taxis are rare at the Cliff divers...but just a minute away by calling the taxi union.

We did the evening cliff divers show because it was alot cooler weather then. I believe it started at dusk, but the ships tour leaves earlier. We were on HAL and the bus took us to some jewelry store first. It was a waste for us BUT worth it because traffic is a nightmare !!!!!!
Also, it isn't real safe there. We were there April 2006 and they had the Mexican army with their machine guns posted every few blocks along that street near the pier.
It is alot of fun and letting the ship take care of everything was great.
When you arrive, the restaurant operators will seat you where they want you to sit.
Enjoy

We were in Acapulco back in Oct 2006. We booked a private tour with Rosie. She was wonderful. Took us from one end of the town to the other. Even to a beach where there wasn't any one there. Then in the evening she took us to see the cliff divers, to a liquor store and back to the ship. We spent a totoal of 10hrs with her for around $35 a person. I would advise using her if you didn't want to book something through the ship, I know the next time we go we will look her up again.
