Default Playa del Carmen question

ur ship will be at Calica from 1PM until 9 PM. We have a 3:00 scheduled time at Dolphin Discovery which should last about 1 hour. Will we have time to visit the ruins at Tulum and make it back to the ship. I realize it would surely be a quick trip, however, we would like to get them both in if possible. Of course we could always book a second cruise. Thanks for any help. We are leaving soon so any quick answers would be great.

You'll have a problem getting to Tulum and back... not only in time, but mode of transport.

Sundown in that area is close to 6 PM as well, so even if you could get there, you wouldn't have much time to see the site.

lets see...it will take you at least half an hour after the swim to shower and get ready and maybe buy a souvenir picture or movie of your swim so this would be 430 leaving the park. Transportation you would need to take a taxi...ca. 50 minute ride. Lets say you arrive at Tulum at 530..by this time or 6PM, the site is already closed. Sun goes down at 7:30-8:00...you would not be able to make it..next time...and then you can try the Xel-Ha & Tulum combo...good luck...actually Xcaret is so beautiful and has much to offer that you can spend a lot of quality time there...

Xcaret you can swim with dolphins as well and its soo lovely there. If you want you can take a quick cab there... swim with the dolphins and walk though it.. then catch another cab to Playa and hang out for several hours before taking a cab back to the ship. We did this... cab rides $10 from ship to xcaret.. $10 from xcaret to Playa ... and $10 from Playa back to the ship... hahahaha
