Cozumel with group of 14
We are frequent cruisers and have been to Cozumel several times. As a couple or small group we usually go to Paradise Beach or Chakanaub and do a little shopping around town and San Miguel Plaza.

We have a group of 15 this time with children from ages 8-16 and adults ages 34-59. Two of the teens, two of the 30 somethings and 2 of the 50 somethings have never cruised nor been to Cozumel.

Thinking about Paradise Beach again in the AM then lunch in town with shopping in afternoon. Any recommendations for restaurants in Cozumel and possibly a contact for group transportation around the island would be great. We had a suggestion of going to Coconuts for lunch, and had never heard of it. I looked it up and it is on the opposite side of the island from Paradise Beach and it is open air on a cliff. Looks great, but we are concerned about the distance and time involved.

Any suggestions?

Coconuts is one of the most beautiful restaurants on the shore of Cozumel, atop a cliff with the best view and great food...very recommendable. To drive to the other side of the island only takes about 20min and approx one hour to drive around the island...Cozumel is quite small so dont worry about distances. For group transportation and personalized island tours you can send an email to "edited for content" they can arrange all type of these services...good luck!

I recommend a tour for such a big party. There's this one we take during family reuinins. Cozumel Dune Buggy Tours - they are awesome. They provide dune buggies, enlighs speaking tour guide, lunch, free beer, boogie boards, snorkeling - you get the whole package wrapped up. It literally goes around the whole island. Try it out!

Our cruise buddies went on the Mr Sanchos beach break through Cozumel-Watersports...they had lots of fun, all inclusive, atv, horseback riding, tequila seminar...will try it nex time!

Mr. Sanchoz is a nice place but they do not have as many water and land toys that Paradise Beach does with the PB $10 wristband. And when you book anything through the is going to cost you more than just booking it yourself.

As you already know, Cozumel is easily done with a ship tour.

So if you are looking for something that "entertains" the kids as well as having ala carte for the rest of your group...Paradise Beach would be your beach of choice.

Panchos Backyard has always been talked about as a great place to eat.

Coconuts is indeed on the East side....we were just there earlier this month. But it is also kinda "suggestive" for younger children.
And there is no regular taxi service over there....we hired a private driver.

What ever you do...I hope you have a wonderful time and that the newbies fall in love with cruising and Cozumel...
