Carnival Splendor (3 days of towing back to port)
I did the ATV jungle adventure in Roatan Hondurus. My family and I had a really good time. We got really dirty. We stopped at a few places and they told us about the Mayan culture. It was OK, better than walking.
The Mayan Jungle ATV tour in Cozumel is certainly a great tour, out of the ordingary with very professional guides and staff...the walking and shopping tour does not have very good reviews..you can shop by your own but most of the time the guides will take you to preset stores. Also, in Cozumel you do not need a shopping tour, all the shopping is on mainstreet or the first and second back street...easy to walk around and explore on your own...good luck!
Thank you so much. This sheds a lot of light on the shopping excursion. Since I am a solo traveler I wasn't sure if I needed a guide. As for the ATV, not sure if a 53 year old woman would be up to the challenge so now I'm wondering if anyone has info on the Jungle Hike. Also, does anyone have any advice about the submarine excursion.
atm55, the Cozumel Jungle Hike is certainly a nice tour, you get to really see the flora, fauna and wildlife of the Jungle, better than riding an ATV, even though that the ATV's are pretty easy to handle, they are semi automatics (no clutch) and you can ride at your own speed. On the hike tour, be prepared to walk quite some and if it is hot and sunny, it can be strenous. But overall it is a nice tour if you want to exercise a litte and are interested in nature and history...good luck!
