Default Free Beach at Costa Maya?

We went to Costa Maya a few years ago before the hurricane hit. When we last went, we were able to take a bus ($3 per person) to a small fisherman village where there were bars and beaches with plenty of lounge chairs. We did NOT have to pay $30-$40 per person or anything like that. Maybe we tipped a guy $10 for getting us 4 chairs, but that's it. Is that still possible now? I am looking for feedback from someone who has been there in 2009. Again, we just want to hang out on the beach, maybe order some food or drink (and pay a la carte) and let our kids play on the beach and in the water. We leave this Saturday! Thanks in advance for any replies.

I agree the town is Majahual I want to know the same thing. I think it's still free the heck with paying to get on a beach!
