Anyone suggest a nice beach to go to in PV. I did check Dreams and 45.00 each. There are 8 of us and I don't want to spend that unless we actually end up doing a tour.
Jiffymom when is your cruise? Mine is on the Carnival Splendor May 2010. Anyway for Puerto Vallarta I was thinking of taking the water taxi to Yelapa I think it's about an hour by water taxi.
Here is a thread I started on the chit chat board. http://www.cruisemates.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=611746
Yelapa even has a waterfall, however, during the dry season it isn't to impressive. But during the rainy season it's pretty nice.

WE ARE GOING ON MARINER MAY 2010. I WAS WONDERING ABOUT QUIMEXTO OR MAJAHUITAS. EXCUSE THE SPELLING. ANY IDEA WHAT A WATER TAXI WOULD COST. ALSO THOUGHT ABOUT GOING TO MESMOLAYA BEACH. BUT THINKING THAT MIGHT BE ROWDED. I LOVE THE IDEA OF A GET AWAY BEACH. THE ONES BY WATER TAXI.
Our three favorite beaches are Sayulita, Piedra Blanca and Yelapa. Piedra Blanca is an easy cab ride and great for a family beach day. Sayulita and Yelapa are a bit more difficult but each is excellent in its own way.
He got back to me really quickly. Which I thought was wonderful. I hadn't even thought about renting a boat to go around. I still don't know what we will do be I have quite a few great ideas now.

Panga boat rentals are fun and not tooooooo! espensive. You can also hire fishermen to take you out in their fishing boats when they don't have a fishing charter.
We hired a fishing skipper to take us to the Marrietta islands to see the "Blue Footed Boobies" there. Afterward he let us fish for a couple of hours. I caught a 108 inch sail fish. And this is an amazingly true "fish story." O.M.G. were we surprised!

This was one of my favorite P.V. memories.
I just have to be careful that I'm in fishing season. Last time we did a pricey Sport fishing Excursion, I think it was in February. Anyway we didn't even have a nibble. Come to found out it's not fishing season. This time we will be there Early May so maybe we are in fishing season and a fishing charter would be fun.
On the Panga boat rentals do you take out your own boat for a couple of hours then return it. Or does someone come with you on the boat similar to a charter?

Each panga has a skipper and often a lookout that stands in the front. Lookouts are important. One time we ran over and killed a huge Manta that was about 18-20 feet across. David and I were both horrified. I will never forget that horrible moment in time. That was one of my worst P.V. experiences.
Our fishing experience was the first week in April.
