Mexico - Stone Island

Does anyone have any info on this small island; how to get there; beach facilities; restaurants; is it worth going for 1/2 day?

you can walk to the embarkadero for Stone Island by turning left from the cs terminal and walking 1/4 mile. The boat ride is about $2 per person round trip. It`s a good half day trip and there are several good palapa style beach front restauranta that are clean and excellent.

Stone Island Mazatlan( Isla de la Piedra ), really a peninsula, is located south of Mazatlan, just a short boat ride across Navigation Channel. With about 4,000 residents, Stone Island Mazatlan has a lot to offer, but without the crowds of mainland Mazatlan.

Mexico's third largest coconut grove follows the length of the southern beach, which seems to disappear on the horizon as it stretches eastward. Gentle waves make for a refreshing swim, and the sandy beach is the perfect place to take in the hot Mexican sun.
