We are very seasoned cruisers, but first time to MSC for 4/18 sailing. Some questions, can you take purchased wine in port and bring on the ship without question as RCCL & Princess allows?
How is the disembarkation in Ft.Lauderdale? Is it organized or a mob scene like RCCL (which is disgraceful, I might add....unlike Princess) Just curious and want to prepare? Can you pre-check your luggage to go directly to the airport with specific airlines i.e.Delta. I know again other ships have this and it's great. The is a nominal cost, but well worth it.
We are going with open minds because of all the mixed reviews! I'm thinking how bad can it be, if I'm not working, cooking, cleaning, driving.....just have fun at the great beaches ahead. I was also a little dissapointed with their excusions so a lot of the stuff we are doing ourselves. Any feedback would be most helpful!

I very much enjoyed my cruise on the MSC Lirica from Port Everglades. I cannot answer your alcohol question, but embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly.

If you would like any specifics about the ship, I would be happy to answer your questions.

Have you played CruiseMates Cruise Trivia Today?

Dear Mermaid,
Thanks much regarding the disembarktation. About what time were you cleared and able to disembark? How did you like the excusions? Did you take a specific one in Cayo Levantado/Samana or Grenada? Doesn't look like a whole lot to do in Cayo? This is a new port of us. Did you have a mixed crowd of people.? We enjoy the disco/club/dancing in the evening after the show for a bit or did everyone go to bed? Guess it just depends on the age group of people. Was there enough food/snacks available during non-dining hours? What time did breakfast end? Was there enough pool space and deck chairs when at sea? Any problems getting US dollars for change in port? We are getting excited as it's a month away now and can't come quick enough for me. Thanks for your help.
Big Red.
