Best deck for seasick Australians??

Hi all,

We'd love to cruise but get seasick in a bath so we need your help.

We're looking at a cruise on the MSC Magnifica and been offered a Category 8 balcony suite on Deck 12. Problem is we dont really know the best places to be on a large ship in terms of minimising movement. We did a three day out and back cruise on the Superstar Virgo from Fremantle into the Indian Ocean and the 5 metre swells made it pretty darn uncomfortable so do not want a repeat of that.

The Cat 8 suites are in the bow and stern. Would we be better off in the middle of the ship? Or, given it is a Venice to Venice cruise with Istanbul the farthest point, it doesn't really matter anyway as the Med is pretty much a millpond compared to the Indian Ocean?

Lower deck, mid-ship is the best place for less movement. If you do get a balcony then you want the one that is mid-ship and on the lowest deck that has a balcony.

Forward and aft will have the most movement.

Mike is right - of course.

I would only add one or two comments:

1. The Med is not always like a 'mill pond' e.g. Brilliance of the Seas last month?

2. When is your proposed cruise and do you propose to visit any Greek Islands? Some Greek Islands can be inaccessible at certain times of the year because of wind etc

Probably leaving Venice on 23 April. Venice, Bari, Katalakon, Istanbul, Izmir, Dubrovnik, Venice.

Oh, and another question, any suggestions on best side of the ship to try for given the entrances into harbours? I'm thinking of Dubrovnik and Istanbul specifically. Venice.......well top and stern for mine.
