What kind of $ are you looking to spend? Keep in mind that in NY the price starts at expensive and goes up from there. Business or pleasure? Individual, couple or family?
Haha Bill! Yes I know, $$$. The recommendation is actually for a friend of mine that will be visiting NYC with her daughter (2 adults). They are going to go all the usual touristy stuff. Looking for an INexpensive, clean hotel in a convenient, safe area. Preferably Time Square/Midtown. Is there such a thing for UNDER $200?
The only place I have stayed is at the Marriot Marquis, which for her dates is $300 something.
new Yorker Hotel 8th Ave and 34th st. rates from$99 to $139 advertised in NY TIMES.
Hotel Pennsylvania 7th ave and 33rd St Rates from $99 in the Times . Both these hotels nears Madison Sq Garden and Macy's and Lord and Taylors and Empire State building. Just South of Time Square. The Mayfower Hotel advertises rates from $139 (near Central Park) Paramount Hotel on 46th st rates from $145. All from ads in last Sunday's NY TIMES.
