Re: Opinions on cruises and itineraries in NE/Canada for aut
We haven't taken any yet, but we're booked to go on the Golden Princess on Oct. 5. I'm hoping the weather will be nice that time of year--not too cool yet but with the leaves showing color. We learned, however, to bring plenty of warm clothes after running into a cold front on a schooner cruise off the coast of Maine a few summer ago. That was the first week of August, and the temperature dipped below 50 at night.
We sailed on the Golden last Thanksgiving and loved the ship. The ports that the Golden goes to look interesting. Unfortunately, the Princess website doesn't have shore excursions listed yet.

We were on CunardCaronia last fall in Canada and New England. This year we are on NCL doing a similar cruise. We loved it. The weather can be a bit cool and rainy but still great. I hope the cruise goes to Quebec City. It is North America's only walled city. It is wonderful and full of history. It is easy to go around it yourself and not worry about a shore excursion. If you stop at Halifax, The port Authority lands are worth a visit with the history of immigration by ship.
Hope that helps. Enjoy!
