We are flying into Boston on 9-28 and have 4 days to tour as much of New England as we can. We wanted to spend our first night somewhere not too far out on Cape Cod. Anyone have any suggestions? I's like to make reservations for that first night. We'll just wing it for the rest of the quick trip.
If all you are going to do is spend the night on the Cape and not spend a day or two exploring, I'd suggest you skip it altogether. Want to see a little more of real New England, head North out of Boston towards Cape Anne. Drive through Salem( spend an hour or two walking around), go up to Cape Anne and spend the night in any one of dozens of fabulous B&B's in either Glouchester or Rockport. Spend the evening seeing the sights and shops of Rockport and the morning checking out the sights and galleries in Glouchester. Much more " New England" than just driving a little way on Cape Cod . Just my opinion.
