Default No Whale Watching in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Voyager?

Hey, I posted this in another part of the site. But I noticed today that the whale watching was off of the Voyager of the Seas shore excursion site. I called and the representative said that Royal Carribean is not having Whale Watching "for now".

Any ideas on how to go about getting such a tour? It's my first cruise .. Thanks.

Check www.murphysonthewater.com for tours. There's plenty of whale watching tours in the Halifax harbour that can be booked.

Thanks everyone. I went to murphysonthewater.com and actually decided on the Harbour Hopper tour on the advice of another poster.

The Harbor Hopper is fun, not as good as Boston (lol)...and depending on the weather wear a jacket... It takes you through downtown Halifax...sadly the beautiful garden was destroyed during a hurricane last year.. When you get off the Harbor Hopper your right by the museum where the artifacts of the Titanic are. As for the whales...you will probably see them along the way north.

Are you going to be stopping in Boston?

No, we leave from Jersey then go right to Halifax, then St. John then head on back. My first cruise. I packed my bag today, put together my formal outfit and filled out the docs. This board has been INVALUABLE. I am also packing a heavy spring jacket just in case it's colder than I expect.

I borrowed a zoom digital camera in case I see the whales I so dearly love.

What I really want is a good lobster lunch shack.

you do realize that whales aren't always around. You won't see any unless it's the right season

Just a note about Murphy's on the Water.... we had lunch there (best calamari ever!) and a whale appeared about 75 feet away from our patio table.

Just4Kian -

In 2003 we sailed from NYC on the exact same cruise - 5 nights. We were lucky to be on the new Serenade of the Seas. The cruise was TERRIFIC!!!! We saw whales everyday. Our last night at sea we saw a pod of approximately 8-10 whales swimming about 50 yards from the ship - something I will never forget!!!!!

This cruise was so wonderful that we're doing it again on Sept. 19th.

Happy Sailing!
