Default Quebec dock

For cruises visiting Quebec, can anyone tell us where the ship (Celeb)docks in Quebec relative to the location of the Hotel Frontenac in Old Quebec? How much is a cab ride for a group of four? Thank you

Hi hcat ! We are with you on the 9/20 Connie. I can tell you where the ships used to dock. I understand there may be a new dock they now use. They used to dock just across the street from the Old Town. You walked the short distance to town then to get to the New Town or upper town you got on the Finicular (sp?) and rode up. Again I am not sure of the new dock situation. See you soon.

Thanks for the info. Pls join us at cruisecritic roll call for this trip & sign up for the free party! How does the funicular work in terms of price, lines,? What about those afraid of heights?

Price should be minimal as it is a short ride. The Finicular does not go straight up as would an elevator but rather rides an incline. Again it only goes up to where the hotel is so heights will be no problem. The lines are also minimal. We normally walk up to the upper city but it is strenuous. Better a cab or the Finicular. A cab would only take a few minutes.

We have docked in Quebec city twice before. Ther is a new passenger favility but same dock area. It is right below the chateau Frontenac. The Funicular is the best way to the old town. Quebec city is so historically beautiful. make sure you take in as much of it as you can. it is Nroth America's only walled city.
