Default Whale Watching Season

Going on NE?Canada cruise Sept. 24, 2005. What is our chance of whale watching at that time. If it is a good time to see them, who would give a good tour for about 14 people?
Thanks,
Norma

You may see some on the way up but the water is getting pretty cold. I'm sure there will be a huge pod on deck by the pool.

We were on the Jewel of the Seas Sept 18th-28th, and we saw a whale in St John NB. It was a 40 to 50 foot Finback whale. The only thing was, it was stuck on the front of the ship. We hit/picked up the whale somewhere between Quebec and St John. That was the only whle we saw on our 10 day cruise.

Too cold for the pod at the outdoor pool but we saw them in Saguenay River--it was a great time to cruise

Just got back from the Canada/New England cruise from Oct 11 to Oct 24.

We saw baluga (not sure on spelling) small white whales in the Saguenay River. They are hard to spot when there are white caps because they are all white themselves but as we left the Saguenay River into the St. Lawrence the waters were calmer and with no more whitecaps, you could see them.

The best place is to be on the top deck in the front of the ship. I was on Celebrity Constellation and we were in the Rendevouz Lounge on deck 11 in the front of the ship.

Even if you don't see any whales, cruising the Saguenay River is wonderful, just get yourself a drink and sit back and enjoy.

Also saw them on our trip--they are harder to spot--in Gulf of St Lawrence there were many whale watching boats so I assume it was the season there! We had calm water in Saguenay--what a glorious day that was!
