Hi, would like to know if anyone has taken a taxi or rented a car to go to Peggy"s Cove? We are thinking about one of these options rather than a shore excursion from the ship. That way we would be able to do what we want. But, I just wondered if it was easy to get a taxi, or if it is easy to drive ourselves? Is there a lot of traffic, and what about parking? Thanks for any information. Jd
We have rented a car to go to Peggy's cove. Usually the car rental agents are on the dock at Halifax. The drive was about an hour and it is beautiful all along the coast.
there is also a very beautiful memorial to the Swiss Air disaster which is 5 minutes further along the coast. It is beuatifully done and worth a visit.
You are much better off to Rent a Car and Drive to Peggy's Cove. Taxi would probably be more than one days Car Rental. There's couple Rental agencies within a 5 minute walk from the Pier. Drive to Peggys Cove is about 45 minutes tops. Halifax is a very friendly City to Drive in. Any questions or more specifics just ask :-)
