Default Sun's maiden voyage - 10 Sept

Hi
We're considering booking on this voyage but have never sailed with NCL before. Many of the NCL reviews I've read to date are critical but this ship seems to be heralded as a vast improvement - any views? Also, any feedback on the transatlantic crossing (via Iceland) would be appreciated - will it be a case of rough seas and bleak terrain?
Cheers.

Elenore,

The Sun is an improved version of the Sky, and having cruised aboard the Sky last year, all I can say is it was GREAT!! Sun will have larger cabins and more dining and entertainment venues.

A friend of mine made a similar voyage last September with HAL and she raved about the voyage; especially Greenland and Iceland. As for rough seas, the Sky/Sun have excellent seakepping abilities; very smooth and stable ships.

Hope this helps!

I sailed on the Sky and I have to say it was great!
My only complaint is we had a problem with our bill
but it wasn't delivered until 3 or 4 in the morning
of debarkation. We had a $200 onboard credit and
it didn't apply to all onboard expenses. So we waited
in line that morning asking about it.

The cabins were small on the Sky at the time I had booked
what was then called a suite. It was your basic room
with a small sitting area. They have since changed the
category. From what I've heard NCL assures that
the cabins on the Sun are larger.

The ship was beautiful! I had a lovely time!
I don't think I would take a maiden voyage on any
ship though. They have to work out the bugs, if you know
what I mean.

If you have any questions about the Sky, feel free to
ask.

I am excited about the ship. It is built for freestyle. The number of differrent eating venues looks great. We will be on her for 14 days in Nov. I make use of all the possibilities.
