Default Haines

Any advice on what to do in Haines. We're doing the railroad in Skagway. We originally thought we'd go in the morning & have time to rest in the afternoon before arriving in Haines but have read here that afternoon is better because of the morning haze..&since my honey likes to sleep in it may be a good idea. We're leaning towards the open pontoon boat in Haines but is sounds rather chilly...any suggestions..We leave in 2 weeks..yikes!!!

I did the Eagle Preserve River Float when I was in Haines last month. It was really nice and relaxing. Yes you do float down the river in a raft, but the beauty of the mountains was absolutely breath taking. We saw probably about 6 or 7 eagles on the trip. Even saw several Moose on the bus ride to and from the trip. The only part of me that was really cold was my feet.
