We're also sailing the Wind on February 10th from Honolulu and I've been finding it quite difficult to find out info. If you post your messages on this particular site, you may find it interesting and informative. Look for me under the alias puggers_mom
Yes I have done this cruise on this ship. As time goes by I think I am the only one that
responds to these posts.
You specifically asked about quiet or secret places on this ship. There is a pool on the stern that is not easily accessable. You have to come from below out the back door of the cabin decks and go up the stairs or come down threeflights of stairs from above.
Great place for sun and much quieter than the main pool. Below the stern pool deck there are several quiet shady decks good for reading ( a little engine vibration as decks are metal).
Rooms on ship are nice sized . Several mid ships lounges with varying entertainment .
Service is good. They do burgers and stuff right at the pool, there is a small pizzaria.
Buffet area is a bit small and cramped.Theatre is nice and entertainment is good.
Best of all your destination is Hawaii. If the ship was a rowboat and the food was gruel and the entertainment was watching a coconut fall out of a tree (which of course it is not) , you would still be going to Hawaii. Please post any specific questions and I will be glad to answer them or refer you to a post where I have already done so.
thank you so much, Is the deck space your talking about on deck 9 in the front of the ship??
It looks like a small area.......... Are there any chairs there??? We have cabin # 9203. I hope it is cause it is right outside our door.
My husband and I are from NJ. Where are you from? Who will you be travling with?
We will be doing the ship tours and have booked them already through NCL.
Did you also get the package deal with 2 nights at a hotel?
It will be our first time to Hawaii and I cant wait!!!!!!!
Have done several cruises on the Wind. It is a great ship. Its been a couple of years since we were on it. We did cruise from Hawaii to Ensenada, Mexico. I Strongly suggest doing a pre-cruise hotel stay in Honolulu. Flying that farand into a totally different time zone is difficult. By going in early you get a couple of days to adjust, plus the added benefit of seeing this beautiful Island.
Derby....we are from Clemmons, NC and yes we also booked land cruises thru NCL but have not received confirmation yet. In fact, they said that they were going to revise the tours in mid February. I had a listing that is suppose to be good THRU April. We are arriving on April 2, which will give us time to rest up and see the island.
Gene....you can reach me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
I still don't know how this darn messaging works..it's not what you you would call "instant" ..but yes, we are going to arrive two days early..and it was arranged by the travel agent..came as a package deal, with air...from one of Many airports around the country..and a good deal..we have also made some land tour reservations......if you would like more info, email me at: email@example.com.Ken wrote:> My wife and I will also be cruising the Wind April 4th> > - what are the pre sail hotel stays? arranged with NCL?> agent?> - were prearranged tours done with NCL or agent?> - are res rev needed each night? can this be done before the> cruise?> > Thanx> > Ken/Maureen
