Just thought of another question you may be able to help with... we have 2 small children we are leaving behind, any idea what the cheapest way to call home throughout our week of sailing? Is it cheaper to call or email? I contacted NCL and they could not tell me the rates of either. Kind of worries me that they cannot even give me the rates and it is their ship. Any input would be great. thanks!
Telephoning home costs depend on where you are calling from and where your home is. Generally on NCL ships, satellite charges are $5.95 per minute to USA and Canada, and $6.95 per minute to the rest of the world.
Internet Cafe charges are generally $0.75 per minute.
But if it is not urgent, why not wait until you are in port and use a calling card at a public telephone - or go to an internet cafe on land?
If you have a mobile telephone, your local service provider may be able to help you connect to the local network wherever you visit. Despite the fact that American Mobile Telephones are generations behind the rest of the world, there are sometimes ways to connect abroad.
Seventy five cents a minute is correct but there is a one time charge of about $10.00 or maybe $7.50 I think. I would choose email over the phone. Of course as already stated it might be cheaper to call from port depending on where you are. Happy cruisin
