Port of Miami to Ft. Lauderdale Airport

I'm cruising with five friends on S/S Norway on May 4. We're flying into Fort Lauderdale on May 3 and will be renting a minivan to get us around on Satuday and Sunday morning. Question -- what options do we have to get back to the Fort Lauderdale airport from the Port of Miami on the morning of May 11, at the end of the cruise?

Also, the NCL website indicates that disembarkation begins around 9:00 a.m. How long does the disembarkation process take on S/S Norway?

I am struggling with a similar situation coming off the Dawn. We need to get back to FLL to get the car we have rented (Iknow you can rent a car anywher, but not the kind we want and we'll be in FL for 4 days so we want a particular kind).

Here are some of the options we've been exploring.

1) Cab- about $60, quick and convenient
2) Limo - most expensive, requires commitment ahead of time, but really nice!
3) NCL transfer- cattle call, slow, around $50 for two one way?
4) Trains - Not sure of schedule or where you pick them up, but they are cheap. Probably a pain to handle your luggage on them. Safe?

I'm still working on this and will update later. What have you found so far?

Last year on the Norway we bought our transfers on the ship - they were $15 per person for the one way trip from the Port to Fort Lauderdale. You can double check this with Norwegian or your travel agent.

I saw some information on the Super Shuttle but I'm not sure how you catch it. Is this something you arrange ahead of time, or just look for them on the pier?

Thanks for the information. What time did they get you to the airport? I probably need to get to the Fort Lauderdale airport by 10:30 a.m. or so.
