Default motion sickness

Has anyone any one had motion sickness sailing from NY. I know the new ships are much bigger than they used to be. My concern is for little children such as a 4year old.
Is it a good or bad idea to give them bonine or such or not?? My daughter's doctor does'nt think it is necessary but has suggested to take bonine just i case.

Does the little one get motion sick in a car? If yes, then motion sickness on the ship is always a possibility, if no, then it is unlikely the ships movement will bother her.

I get bad motion sickness in the car, but I got those patches that you put behind your ear- they are tiny like the size of a circular band-aid... and they work wonders. I didn't feel sick once even when it got rocky. They are prescription only, but I'm sure you can get them no problem with a call to the physician. Good luck! and enjoy your cruise

Bonine is a wonder drug!!! We went on the Alaska cruise two years ago, and the ship was rocking so much that you could see the sky in the dining room out the opposite windows... I had the patches with me, but decided to take Bonine and never had one problem. It's so much better than Dramamine (unless you take it before you go to bed...haha).

Ginger snaps or ginger ale to drink help with motion sickness for children...they cannot take the patches, they are too small...bring box of snaps with you for good results..

Dramamine's new formula is identical to Bonine. They have the same active ingredient.
