Well, MrTractor, here's the latest we've seen on the Blue Lady. On July 21st NCL announced that the SS Norway, presently at Bremerhavn, will not be ready to sail on Oct. 5th as NCL had previously announced. Talk about extreme understatement!
The delivery time frame for the replacement boiler is now estimated to be between 7 & 12 months! So NCL now says that the SS Norway could return as early as the Spring of 2004. However, they are understandably hesitant to announce a new launch date.
Many Norway-lovers fear that she may never sail again. I'm a little more optimistic myself, but my motives are purely selfish as I want to be privileged to sail her again (first & only time was Jan. 2003). Let's hope that NCL sticks by its announced intent to have her in service sometime next year. We can dream, can't we?
