directions needed from south on NJ tpk to dawn pier please

hi, anyone know the driving directions to the pier from soth on the nj turnpike..and where is the parking lot? thanks a bunch..and happy cruising..ilyse

One of the ways to go from the NJ Tpke is to go to the Verrazano bridge and go to the Belt Pkwy West off the Bridge, Its a little tricky to go West off the Bridge, but would be fastest way, Take Belt Pkwy to Battery Tunnel to NYC. Out of the tunnel stay right on to West St. take that to the Boat. 55th St.
You can park on the pier on the roof by the boat. It cost around $156 for the week.
Drop off your bags first and go up on the roof.
You'll have a good time. The ship is beautiful.

Take the NJ Tpke follow signs to the Lincoln Tunnel. When you are in Manhattan you should go to 59th street and make a left, then continue all the way to the pier, you can't miss it.

One more suggestion:

Go to Mapquest.com.

Put in your home address and the address of the pier. It will give you turn by turn directions as well as exact mileage between turns, etc. Print it out and your are ready

On the turnpike go north to the Holland Tunnel exit. Be careful right after Newark because the turnpike splits where the left lanes are an express past the Holland exit. You will see the skyline of Manhatten and know when to exit. I believe it is exit 16. After you come out of the tunnel in Manhattan, stay to the left and head north. You will come out of the tunnel around 36th st. As you go north, the streets increase. As the other person said, turn left toward the river around 59th. Every other street is one way, so make sure you go far enough north. You should see signs directing you to the terminal. I'm sure you will be able to see the ship as you approach the river. It is hectic at this point , so get all the eye help you can. You will come up to an unloading area to get your luggage out. Have someone stay with the luggage while you park the car next to the terminal.You may have to go up a deck or two so remember where you unloaded. Walk back to where you unloaded and proceed to the ship. People will be inside the door to direct you.

Correction to above--I said Holland (which is downtown)--I meant Lincoln which is very near the terminal. Sorry about that...

If I were you I'd park in weehawken and take the ferry then catch a cab. the ferry is right by the lincoln tunnel or if you are comming from further south take the ferry from atlantic highlands. dont have to pay for parking there .
