Just returned today from the Norwgian Dawn Christmas cruise. Overall very nice ship, surprisingly good food and decent service. We had very good weather at every port. The NY embark/debark thing was easier than I expected it to be - although debarkation takes a little longer - we were on a plane out of LaGuardia by 11:30 AM so all in all very good.
Norwalk is a deffinate concern on board. They have waterless hand sanitzer at all food service locations and require you to use it there as well as when you board the ship and at ports of call.
Lots of families this cruise as expected, kids seemed to be enjoying themselves. I like the freestyle thing - provides you a lot more choices and less hassle and as I've said the food was quite good.
The weather was not that good at every port. It rained in Universal, Miami was very
chilly, Naussa was cold as well and the trip was shortend due to late arrival.
Did you you forget the people that where sea sick due to the rough weather.
Embark was slower and debark was faster. Sometimes I think that you people are so excited about leaving the house that you'll write anything.
I was reading your comment and was amazed. It seems one person can have an overall good experience and the next can have a disasterous one.
Honestly, can you tell me what the rough seas were like. I have a terrible association with cruising from 7 years past in Greece. I was on a small ship (400 pass.) and sick for an entire day. Is the weather really not good? I plan to travel in Feb. What do you advise?
