We are planning to go to Alaska May 2 on NCL someone told my husband that we should be a passport.. I called the travel agency and they said we dont need one as long as we have our drivers license and birthcertificate.. we are driving from ny to vancouver. I have been in canada before and they never asked for a passport.. We just want to make sure since we went to get one today and it said it would take up to 10 weeks to get one,, that is not enough time. since we are leaving a week before the crusise.. please help and let me know if we need one or not .. thanks very much

Re: passports
Canada does not require passports but you do need a government issued photo id and your certified bith certificate (not a copy). The generally do not ask for it but just this last winter when we went to Canada, they required that we show it.
