i was on the sea years ago...pre-freestyle cruising. it's a great ship...not huge...on the smaller tip, but still a nice and clean ship. i love ncl and think it's a great value. if the price is right...do it!
I was on the sea last Feb. 2003 It was a nice ship. NCL I think has really good food for dinner. i have not been on any other cruiselines. I am going on a carnival in April. Last year the sea was western Caribbean. I went on the Norway NCl and that is much bigger than the Sea but the Sea is nice. Enjoy!
Ditto on other posts about NCL and the Sea.
Four of us did our first cruise out of Houston Jan. 24-31. Loved it.
Price is right.
Not the newest ship but the Sea had a Jan/03 upgrade to restaurants, etc. Very nice. Cabins (we were 3186 and 3185 on Atlantic Deck) not the newest but clean and comfy.
No hesitation in recommending NCL or the Sea. Would do it again in a minute. Well, maybe next year.
Did the Sea on 2-7 to 2-14 '04. Was great! Crew was fantastic. Ship was nice and well kept. Can't wait to go again! Only thing that was a pain was the 2 hour wait in line at the port of Houston. But wasn't that bad, made some new friends just waiting in line!
Have a GREAT time and let us know what you thought when you come home!
cabins = very small
ship = 42,000 tons, not one of the mega ships
itinerary = probably the very best Western Caribbean itineneray in the business.
You get to travel with the very best folks in the world! ......... TEXANS!!!!
We drove through Texas for a Jan. 24 cruise on the Sea. Don't recall meeting too many Texans on the ship but we sure met some nice folks on the drive and during our stopovers in Dallas and Houston. From hotels to restaurants to shopping malls (staff and customers), we found very pleasant, friendly people. We got a kick out of listening to them talk and they said they loved our funny way of talking, especially all the "ehs".
Nice state, nice people. The traffic in Houston and Dallas - well, that's another matter. Driving in cities that big with construction everywhere was a real experience. But we survived. And hope to do it all again as soon as we restock the holiday savings accounts.
My husband and I will be sailing on the Sea 4/24. We did one other free-style cruise and one non free-style cruise. There are pros and cons to each - mostly we just love cruising (any style). It was fun sitting with different people at every meal on our other free-style cruise. We met some interesting folks. I also didn't feel I needed to dress up as much on the free-style cruise. Either way is alot of fun - hope to see you there. Write back if you have any more questions. Cindy
