Default NCL Wind

We are curious about the NCL Wind Ship. We have never sailed on her before and were wondering what peoples recent opinions were.

We have been on Princess, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean.

The cruise we are looking at is the 5 day repostion on her in MAy 3 2004

Thanks in advance for help

My husband and I traveled on the Wind in 7.02 - our first cruise ever. We loved her, and thought she was great.

I'm leaving on her in 10 days. Heard some mixed stuff at first, but EVERYTHING i've heard from people has been great. I can't wait.

My wife and I were on the Wind 3 weeks ago. We had a great time! The ship was nice and clean, the food was great, the entertainemnt was great, and even though the ship was full we never really felt crowded. We've been on Royal Caribbean, Holland American and Princess. We have another cruise already booked on Princess but would go back on the Wind in a heartbeat!

Island Princess 7/74
NCL S/S Norway 6/83
RCCL Song of America 3/87
HAL Nieuw Amsterdam 7/97
Sea Princess 10/01
NCL Norwegian Wind 2/04
Caribbean Princess 9/04

We just got off the Wind on Sat. and we thought It was a nice ship. It is a small ship compared to the newer "mega-ships" but that is what gives her its charm. The crew and staff are marvelous. They go out of their way to make your trip a memorable occasion. If there are any specific questions, please ask.

Sailed Norwegian Wind @ Christmas 2002. Rated it 2nd best of our 11 cruises.

Really liked the free-style meal and dress programs. This was an 11 day Hawaii cruise stopping at four Hawaiian islands and Fanning Island which is about 1000 miles south of the Hawaiian Islands.

Food was very good, entertainment also top notch mostly because of all the cultural programs, lai making, Hawaiian History lectures and Hawaiian music.

Had to convince my son and family to take this cruise. He didn't think there would be enough sights for his taste. He loved every minute, went so far as to book another Hawaiian trip which we completed in August 2003.

Anyway, we loved it. Hope you do too.

I've booked our next cruise on Norwefian Crown this November and that is a direct result of our experience on the Wind.

Just got off the Wind on 4/17! She's wonderful! If you get a chance, go up to the Observatory Lounge and hear Patty and Jose (pronounced Joe-say).... Tell them Carrie, Larry, Al and Robin say HI!! And don't forget, EH? (he's canadian!)

Food was great, and the freestyle was great! The only problem was formal night.. had a bit of a run around getting somewhere to eat, but it wasn't bad, just annoying. Staterooms were very well kept and clean.. whole ship was very clean and well-kept.. pools are good size, plenty of chairs and deck space. We never had to "fight" for a chair. And since it was Easter weekend, it was packed!

All in all, great ship, great service, great cruise!

I am interested in booking a trip in Dec. Can you tell me whether the ship has been refurbished?
Are the conditions aboard clean and how would you compare the food to other lines? Thanks, Stan

My husband and I are going on the 11 day Hawaiian cruise on December 25. I was wondering how choppy the water is, especially when we do snorkeling excursions? I know every cruise and year is different when it comes to the weather, but I've heard that the air temp. is about 80 degrees and that the water temp. is about 75 degrees. Is this about right? Thanks,
