Default Transportation to NY pier

we are coming in from Albany NY and didn't want to drive our car down. We looked into rentals, but the only way you can get a one way rental is to take it to the airport which (I've heard) is know where near the pier. Limo's are way too expensive($600 each way). does anyone know of any shuttle services that go to Albany?

Do you have a bus service (i.e. Bonanza, Peter Pan, etc.) that heads into Manhattan?! If so, it will take you to Port Authority which is a 15-20 minute walk from the pier or you can jump in a cab which will be about $3-4.

Check ncl's website for buses. They have several, maybe one would work for you.

thanks for the good info. The ncl bus services doesn't go anywhere in NY state which I found very odd....The train is $140 round trip pp and we have 7 ppl ....plus we would have to take a cab (or 2) to get to the pier from grand central......We decided to rent a mini-van for the week, we got a pretty good deal. The guy says 7 ppl plus luggage will fit, can't wait to see that. I hope I don't end up having to take my suv also.... but if I have too ...oh well...

Boubie,

What about a Hertz or Alamo rental? Maybe you could rent one drive it down here and then drop it off at a return station if there is one near the pier and go home the same way? Its just a thought, hope it is helpful.
