Let me add one thing to this question. If they are not in the room, are you allowed to bring one? I read on another message board that they were considered a fire hazard and could not be brought on board. I have yet to find this statement on NCL's webpage. Does anyone know?
Things sure do change, I was on the Sea two years ago and the Majesty 3 and I brought a travel iron both times. It would seem that ncl would discourage irons somewhere in the paperwork. Going on the Dawn 5-16, sure hope I can bring an iron because my packing is horrible.
I agree with you Nc, I haven't found anywhere (website, cruise docs) where it says no irons, but I have seen people on these boards say that you can't bring them. It is a pain to have to go to another deck to iron clothes. I hope someone can clear this up with some definative information. I would think though that NCL would have to specificaly state "no irons" in order to ban them. By the way, I am also going to be on the 5-16 cruise.
I think that the travel irons are okay. Regular household irons may be confiscated from your luggage. My sister had broght an iron with her on the Dawn and it was confiscated and she had to retieve it the last day of the cruise.
