Having booked my first cruise on the NCL Star for Alaska in June, I am wondering if you have to 'dress up' for dinner ? I'm not one to get all 'dolled up' for much of anything. I like to enjoy my food and whatever you wear doesn't make any difference to me. It would seem that the Alaskan cruise would be a comfortable cruise and that dressing up would be a little out of the ordinary..... Hope to hear some response just in case I need to add to my wardrobe..... thanks
Hi - hope this helps. Dressing up on NCL is optional but no shorts, jeans, T shirts or bare feet in the dining room at dinner. For formal nites u will see some men in tuxs & ladies in long gowns and other folks in just simple casual clothes - probably more dressed up than not though and the alternative restaurants recommend dressing as u wld for a 4-5 star restaurant at home...Other nites u will see almost everything with the norm for men being - docker 'type' slacks, open neck shirts, sweaters/jackets and similar for ladies including those lovely cotton & blend casual long dresses that look so classy and comfortable. Happy cruise!!
