My family and I just got back from the Norwegian Sky, on the Eastern Exotic Itinerary. We were a group of eight, four adults and four children, on our second cruise. We all enjoyed many of the ports, especially the ample time that was given to explore the Islands. Although there were a few disappointing things we experienced on the ship, for one the food was not that great, the menu was basically the same everyday, and if there was a change nothing that great. The juice machine never worked for the whole trip. The buffet was extremely bad and the food even worse. We had four inside cabins, they are very SMALL. The room steward was very friendly and our room was very clean all the time. Donít pack too much there will no room to store it, we had kidís clothes in the washroom.
Overall the ship was in good shape the entertainment was ok and service ok. Lucky I have the luxury of cruising at least once or twice a year, If I had a choice with this cruise line again, I think I will pass.
Deen, boy you sure had nothing positive to say did you. That's too bad. I am glad you have a chance to cruise a couple of times a year; that's certainly more than most of us. There is a reason for so many cruise lines, seems NCL isn't for you. By the way you can read a couple of reviews on CC from cruisers on the same cruise as you with totally different experiences. Isn't it amazing how 50 people can write about the same experience and get something different out of it. Hope your next cruise turns out better. What line were you on the first cruise?
On Celebrity, I did not mean to come off so negative. But like you said we read all the reviews and we were pumped up. Not that we were disgusted with the cruise, but it was a lot less than what we expected, thatís all. In the end we had a great time, and the islands were magnificent. Hoping to try the Radisson or go back to Celebrity next time.
Deen, we have never done Radisson but have heard it is a step above Celebrity: we did the Constitution last November and though we did think there were certain little niceties offered that we didn't get on NCL we just didn't see as much difference as some have seen. We liked the food on Celebrity better, but different from your experience we thought the buffets on NCL were better. The buffet presentation offered on the Connie was much nicer yet we found the choices for breakfast and lunch the same each day and boring. NCL offers the wonderful bar-B-Ques; the hamburgers; the Mexican lunch: the sandwhiches etc outdoors every day during the lunch hour. Our cabin size and everthing were about the same, but Celebrity had much better storage. The ship activities were the same as were the night game shows. We liked Celebrity casino better while the entertainment was a little better on the Sky. I think the one thing that is best for us about NCL is the freestyle dining. We love the choice of where and when we will eat. Didn't try the Connie's specialty restaurant as we thought $25 for 3 courses was a little more than we felt like paying plus the cost of wine was outragous. We have tried all the restaurants on both the Sun and the Sky. If you do get a chance to cruise Radisson please let us know. We would love to read a review.
