I was wondering if anyone knows exactly what they are doing as far as refurbishing the Sky to become the Pride of Aloha. I would guess changing the restaurants to a Hawaiian theme and perhaps adding flower leis to her hull but what else? Are they 'doing' new mattresses, drapes, carpets, bedspreads etc. also? How about menus - will they include poi, etc? Thanks for the replies in advance & happy cruisin' all :0)!
I don't know about the menus, but when we called NCL, they told us that EVERYTHING would be changed. They will strip the boat clean, leaving only the skeletons of the cabins, and refurbish everything anew.
Nice of u to take the time to answer my questions. I don't really like 'poi' so if it isn't added to the menu I won't care. Sure wld enjoy roast pig luau style although not sure they have underground cooking pits with hot stones on a ship - haha!! Really looking forward to seeing 'her' when the pictures are available and won't it be grand to travel on a completely refurbished ship - almost like brand new and the destination can't be beaten. Thanks & happy cruisin' :0)
Re: Re: POA - What Does the Refurbishing Include??
I wonder if casino area will be removed as they will not be sailing in "international waters" far enough from US land? Unless of course they could call it "Riverboat style gaming (Smile). Can't wait for reviews of food, service etc.
Re: Re: Re: POA - What Does the Refurbishing Include??
Wait a minute - u can gamble in Las Vegas but not on a cruise ship not even touching shore even if within US waters. A bit hypocritical don't u think. That revenue wld help keep fares lower - change the laws to allow it - it in't corrupting anyone - only passengers have access to it and only while at sea? Sometimes some rules do seem a wee bit 'silly' - what think?
