NCL DREAM goes to Alaska on Aug. 11th. for an 11-day itinerary. The NCL DAWN is doing Bahama/Florida itineraries during August (out of New York).

Sorry, I can' t provide a "review" since the m/s DREAM is my first cruise with NCL.

Yes. My first Alaska experience was last September. Great destination; grandeur landscapes....and the air smells.........clean and crisp. This is my second (of many) visit to Alaska--just a different cruiseline.

I have read some negative and some positive reviews of this ship. It is an older ship and encounters minor problems occasionally. Stuff like hot water going out for awhile or feeling rougher waters due to poor stabalizer performance. Our itinerary takes us mainly to inside passages therefore very little rockin and rollin, if any. Some complained about the food and others were rather happy with the quality. Personally, I'll appreciate such a vast array of food is available for me to choose from. Especially breakfast. So much to choose from........lots more variety than in my home, that's for sure. lol
Everyone, however, commented on how hard working the staff is to accommodate with cabin service and passenger friendliness. I think this makes up for the lack of constant entertainment options & dazzle-em-with-glitz venues that some of the more recently-built megaships are designed to achieve. It's not high-end cruising.........but it's a satisfying experience to many.

We took Dream to Alaska in May and we enjoyed every minute of it.

We found the staff pleasant and very helpful as we were first time cruisers.

Waits for meals weren't bad , but we are early to all meals and used the concierge to book dinners. Alex was so good to us.

Enjoy it, I think its lots in what you make of it. We met lots of nice people and saw more than we ever expected
