My husband and I are leaving on the Star. 11/21/04, Can someone tell me, do they sell cartons of cigarettes on board. My husband, daughter and I had previously cruised on Carnival and my husband would by a 5 carton pack at the beginning of the cruise and then have a couple cartons left when we debarked. Then we went on Princess and as soon as the ship left port we went to get his cigarettes. When the sales person told me they didn't sell cigarettes, my heart stopped. I just knew this beautiful ship was not big enough to get away from him if he couldn't smoke. Fortunately, they sold single packs at the bars and the trip was saved. That was close and I don't want to repeat that again!!
Thanks for the help
Has customs changed its policy on cigarettes again? Years ago you could pay the duty on any over the allowed. Then a year or two ago we were on a Carnival Ship (Elation I think) Mexico again. Customs had just changed its policy and anything over the limit was confiscated. They notified us the day before we disembarked. One lady had bought 75 cartons and the ship would not let her return them. She wasn't happy.
Where do you work on the ship? We'll have to look you up.
