Just reading on NCL's website about the on board credit account. They say they do a "pre-authorization". Does anybody know if this means they put a hold on your account for a certain amount of money? And if they do, anybody know for how much? Any help would be appreciated.
I'm not positive, but on the POA I heard them telling someone beside me that they put a hold on their card for a certain amount because they were using an ATM. I don't think that there was a hold on mine but it was a credit card instead.
We sailed on the NCL Sea in Feb. We used our debit card for the onboard account, they did put a hold on funds for our shore excursions + about 100.00 the first day-(we pre-booked our excursions) then they placed a hold on add'l funds that we had signed for every nite around midnight.
Guess I should have clarified that the hold were placed every night, but the actual charges for the onboard account were not actually charged until the end of the cruise. Showed up on our bank statement as being actually submitted 2 days after the cruise. Also, if you cancel a shore excursion, they are VERY good at immediately crediting that back to your card.
