Are you planning on taking any of the NCL shore excusions? Or are you going to book on your own.

We just got back from a Carnival cruise and did the "Royal Dolphin Swim" at Cozumel where you actually ride on the dolphins and swim with them for half an hour. WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. We learned a hell of a lot about Dolphin behavior very quickly. It was $125 pp through dolphindiscovery.com but well worth the money!

The other tours we booked on line were better than the ones offered by Carnival and cheaper...but you run the risk of losing money if there is bad weather and the ship skips the port.....

I will be there

We are on the Sea Jan 15th also. I am so looking forward to this trip. I need a break after the craziness of the holidays and work.

We are coming from Seattle. We decided to book the ship shore excusions. I know they cost more but call me chicken. I rather have the piece of mind knowing I won't get left behind in case the shore excusions gets back late.

Actually that is NOT the biggest reason for booking with NCL. There have been a lot of windy days in the Caribbean this Fall and so a lot of port stops were skipped or canceled. The ship just stays out at sea. If you booked privately [as I did on a Carnival trip in December] and the ship just skips the port call....you are out of luck. No refunds when the ship is a "NO SHOW". If you book through the cruise then they refund the money for cancelled port calls or when the weather is too rough to take the trip.
